Who’s running in ‘06 and who’s not?
How many opponents will line up against Commissioner Larry Jones (Pct. 2) in March?
Is Rodney Ramsey running for Joe Grubbs’ seat in four years?
If you live in and around Ellis County, Texas, know of any “inside” information about potential candidates, office holders’ plans, or are just determined to find out more about political life here south of Dallas, let me know.
As a former investigative reporter at The Ellis County Press, I can honestly say that covering local elections was the biggest reward. I loved stirring the pot in controversial races.
Basically, my love for journalism has not faded, even though I’m working in the political field full time. I do, however, only do the reporting on a freelance basis, emphasis on “free.”
Ephesians 5:11 is still my calling: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
This is not a Joey Dauben for Congress blog [This is: http://joeydauben.blogspot.com], so don’t expect to read any of my official campaign “stuff” here.
City council races. School board. County commissioner, judge, attorney races…they’re all here.
But don’t expect me to hold back on media critique either. The Ellis County Press is a great paper, but they are not even close to reporting their potential.
Because folks are getting their news online now more than ever, The Ellis County Observer will do for the online market what the ECP did (past tense) for the newspaper market.
Enjoy.

Joey,
This is a great idea. We have a similar site for Central Louisiana called Cenla Antics at http://www.cenlaantics.blogspot.com.
I also added the Observer to my links page at Slice O’ Life. Thanks!

Good luck with the blog.

What about Linda Sibley’s daughter running for county judge?
What about the county judge firing the emergency management coordinator and then taking his SUV to drive (although he actually named his secretary to serve as the new emergency management coordinator?).
What about the county judge appointing one of his former campaign workers, Diana Buckley, to the post of indigent health care coordinator without it going through the proper channels per county policy? Isn’t this illegal?
What about Ron Brown personally recruiting somebody to run against Larry Jones? If you’re truly going to expose corruption, here is your chance to put your money where your mouth is.
