Congressman Joe Barton, R-Ennis, has concerns about privacy with Google?
I’ve praised our congressman since the Dems took control last year for having such a conservative voting record, but privacy is the last thing Barton should be concerned about with large companies. Why? Because of all the legislation that has passed Barton’s desk, nothing comes close to privacy-shredding than the anti-Constitutional USA PATRIOT Act.
Barton voted for the PATRIOT Act. And he is a steadfast supporter of it.
So Joe, practice what you preach. It’s hilarious that Barton chairs a privacy caucus. If Barton wants to gain any credibility on the privacy issue, he needs to recant his votes for the PATRIOT Act authorization and reauthorization.
