It’s amazing that I have to keep clarifying to people that the annexation fight in Midlothian isn’t over. I don’t have a dog in the fight, but the misinformation spread thanks to the Midlothian Mirror has resulted in a lot of misdirection. With that said, some guys e-mailed me what they say are discrepancies between some property Councilman Wayne Sibley owns and pays taxes on.
For those math majors out there, perhaps y’all can give some analysis.
First $ Figure=Appraised Value
Second $ Figure=Taxes Paid6.13 ACRES SIBLEY WAYNE $550 10.07

Putting such CRAP out here is so irresponsible…. There are a variety of reasons that taxes would be different on separate parcels.. Some might or might not be in the city, have over 65 exemptions, have homestead exemptions, and have agriculture exemptions…. To insinuate that there is anything underhanded is immoral…
These RCAA folks just try to stir things up. GET OVER IT…THE ANNEXATION IS DONE / OVER / RESOLVED……. If you have been staying up on annexation rulings…. there have been two recent rulings from STATE courts that AFFIRM a cities ability/responsibility to ANNEX…… GET OVER IT! You just keep trying to discredit what is by far the most advanced, proactive, and progressive and yes CONSERVATIVE governments in Ellis County…. It is run by professional STATESMEN with a professional, civil staff…they continue to increase levels of service while decreasing the impacts on taxpayers…… If I’m not mistaken they were the only entity to reduce their tax rate last year… You RCAA folks should thank them instead of trying to destroy them with your lunacy and lies.
And Joey.. before you start railing about the smoking regulations… do your homework.. There isn’t a single business that was required to make any significant changes in their business……. Every existing restaurant was provided an exemption that allows them to do business as they always have…. Only NEW restaraunts must have a separate smoking area with separate ventilation systems… again.. PROGRESSIVE and RESPONSIBLE!

Forced annexation is The Midlothian’s City Council answer to collecting taxes. The city feels that it’s roads and parks are used by ousiders who contribute nothing .
The city also believes that it hasn’t been paid it’s fair share for emergency services. If true , it may be due,in part ,to the incompetence of a former city manager. One ,who collects an estimated $14,000 a month from the city, as an advisor.
In delaying the building of Fire Station # 3 ,the city has wasted , as much as several hundred thousand dollars .
Uncontrolled growth has led to crowded roads, and schools. This will continue for this council sees rooftops[more houses] as an answer to lower taxes.
Many city problems have been inherited and many will be passed on.

Joey, are these in ag,homestead, non-exempt or what and how are they zoned. If the angle is appraisal hankey pankey you can forget it.No one can manipulate that system you may get lucky for a while maybe one or two years but it always catches up.There are 6 acre tracts worth 2million and ones worth 2 thousand.

Militants ,Troublemakers or Mad and not going to take it any more?
Midloathian .The city council is under attack. The mayor and his pro-tem are lost. They have been in the bright lights too long. What was this town like when they first took office?
If the RCAA is fighting city hall and making people think, GOOD. It’s about time somebody said something.
This town is nothing more than a 21 century Irving.
663 does not meet the needs of the people. 663 met the needs of builders.
Apartments on Walter Stephenson road. All is quiet, until after the election. The present council blames past councils. What will future councils hang on Boyce and the boys.
Do they have an agenda? TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE! The people are the color of money.
If you read this and you aren’t registered to vote why don’t you try a porn site.
Voting should be the duty of all people, regardless of how you vote.
The” it’s a fact friar campaign “will deal will nothing but scare tactics , there will be no issues, but to prove ” YOU CAN’T FIGHT CITY HALL”.

The Midloathian leadership core group of six are the true perveyors of half truth and misinformation.
What are the charges pending against the Midloathian council member ? It made front page news in the local paper. Who is the key witness and what might testimony earn? Will it just disappear ?
Is the mayor’s action a deliberate attempt to effect council elections ?
Boyce and da boyz are not soaring to new heights they are showing how low they will go!
