Libertarians to Hold Two Conventions

One convention is for Congressional District 6 (CD-6) - Max Koch vs. Perry Munger - and the other convention for the Libertarians locally is for State Representative District 10 - Phil Smart vs. Robert Guest.

The Precinct convention (third-parties hold conventions, major parties hold primaries) will actually be held in Ellis County on Tuesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. to decide the Smart-Guest contest. That contest will determine who will carry the LP ballot line against incumbent state Rep. Jim Pitts, R-Waxahachie, who drew no primary opposition or Democratic challenger.

March 22: District Convention - Koch vs. Munger
If local political junkies will remember, it was Max Koch that cost  an Arlington Republican  his  long-held seat to Democrat state Rep. Paula Pierson. Koch received more votes than the margin of victory. See how three-way races can alter an election?

The local LP chapter will release details of their conventions at a later date, presumably before March 1.
