Raise your voice against the PATRIOT Act
Dear Joey,
Last week, we announced that on February 3, we will gather Bill of Rights supporters from across the country in Washington, DC, to share concerns about domestic spying with members of Congress as they turn their attention, once again, to the PATRIOT Act. The lobby day will include a morning briefing, advice on how to talk to your members of Congress, sessions with issue experts, meetings with your senators and representative, and an afternoon debrief.
Come to Washington on February 3 and tell your congressional representatives how important it is to you–their constituent–that they stand up for your constitutional rights.
Even if you can’t travel to the nation’s capital, you can still raise your voice to insist that the PATRIOT Act be amended to also include protections for constitutional rights. Today, we’re launching a sign-on letter promoting amendments to incorporate into the PATRIOT Act long overdue civil liberties and transparency protections, including some from the JUSTICE Act proposed by Senator Feingold and opposed by the Obama administration.
Sign this letter today to call on the President and your members of Congress to reject fear mongering and instead fulfill their oaths to defend the Constitution.
Many thanks for your continuing commitment to the Bill of Rights,
Shahid Buttar

In a time of panic many of those in power forget that what separates the USA from any other country in the citizens’ rights under the Constitution. When those rights start getting eroded under whatever “fear” or “terror” rhetoric we all are at risk. It is a slippery slope that should never be started because if we allow them to go far enough, the Constitution will mean nothing. We have survived many wars and conflicts while the citizens maintained their rights under the Constitution. This is not different. Fear mongering cannot lead us to believe that our rights should be surrendered to the government. They work for us and should be protecting our rights regardless of the cause not reducing them or doing away with them.

I sent my letter, and I ask that you do the same. It is too important.

Crow himself has signed that petition and urges any freedome lovers to do the same. The toltalitarian tiptoe is rapidly turning into a sprint to the finish line. Facism, it is alive and thriving in the United States of America.
