Just a few polls to tide everyone over while I coordinate some newspaper expansion plans and run a few errands, and meet up with another parent with a CPS horror story…
This next poll centers on whether or not voters would choose an atheist to be County/District Attorney. Since prosecutor Patrick M. Wilson is an avowed atheist, according to co-workers and defense lawyers, and is also rumored to be seeking the DA seat in 2012, this poll is relevant now.
Here’s a poll that its contents have been discussed periodically the past few days in respect to my false arrest and false imprisonment last fall at the hands of Combine Police Dept. There are numerous e-mails that Combine Detective John Allen “Jay-Jay” Hoskins sent to defense lawyer Mark Griffith both during my time in jail and after I got out. He attempted to use his badge even when I got out of jail to silence this blog, to have material removed and comments deleted and moderated. He also gave extremely important facts of his department’s “investigation” in these e-mails. In one e-mail, Hoskins asks Griffith to have CrookedCombine.com, GypsyCopJay.com taken down completely. He also requested in the same e-mail to have ECO comments moderated and put on hiatus. Again, using his official badge and position to restrict the individual rights of another individual — that is, under federal law, a “color of law” violation. The poll is to the point:

Would you vote for an atheist for ANY office? Could the objection been seen as a religious test under Article VI of the Constitution?

The question is, where is the oath of office Patrick M. Wilson swore to become a lawyer and later, an assistant DA?

I’m posting one of the comments from one of the polls here:
Where ever this story leads you need to release your information prior to the TML settling this out of court, without admitting fault, guilt, or culpability and it is sealed never to be discussed without severe penalty again.
Hoskins must have attended the “bubba school of law enforcement.”
The one where they teach prospective law enforcement officers, “don’t let no ivory tower intellectual in a black robe tell you can’t enforce the law as you see it, because you are the law, and your employer will back you up even if you are wrong cause they’re stupid.”
I have seen too many – even one is too many – law enforcement officers that believe this type of garbage.

No office can require you to swear an oath to god in order to hold office. Same with being a lawyer, or testifying on Court. You can “swear or affirm,” because even some religious nuts won’t swear to god. Actually, they’re probably the most reasonable of the religious nuts, whereas goons like y’all take his name in vain every time you use him as a sword and not a shield.

My comment was a broad stroke. I understand there is a substantial difference between requiring a god belief in order to hold an office and voters requiring a candidate to have a god belief before getting their vote.

I was referring to Joey’s post on the oath the guy took as a lawyer and a DA.

Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
