My Arrest

In September of 2009, while I was living in Plymouth, N.H., I was arrested in an illegal criminal investigation stemming from Combine, Texas. There are numerous articles, links and content online readers can utilize to find the full picture, but in a nutshell, this is what happened:

I was arrested, thrown in jail for 12 days (Sept. 14-25) all for publishing a mug shot – on my blog (www.EllisCountyO.com) of a Combine, Texas reserve officer who had been arrested. That’s why I was arrested and accused of three felonies by now-former Combine “detective” John Allen “Jay” Hoskins, his now-former Chief Steve Allen and Sgt. Brian Robinson.

The truth is out there, but yes, I was in jail for 12 days. I had moved to Plymouth in February 2009, but upon being released on Friday, Sept. 25, I packed up my two puppies, my belongings, and moved back to Ellis County, Texas.

All charges were rejected by Dallas County prosecutors, not “dropped” since the prosecutors would not take the case. But Dallas County “left” me in jail six extra days. My charges were rejected on Friday, Sept. 18. I should have walked out a free man, but I wasn’t. Thanks to numerous hard-working lawyers, mainly that of Rodney Pat Ramsey, I saw freedom again.

And several law enforcement officers and city officials in Combine saw an end to their careers…and perhaps one day, their freedom.
