Well I guess the good ol boys are still up to their same old tricks, making back door deals, same as always. The big difference in now and 20 years ago is the people, growth and maturity of Ellis county. Unfortunately the need for a law enforcement that is educated with information for dealing with this generation of criminals has grown faster than anything. The world we live in now is a small one but when you have not looked at or experienced anything outside of your own back yard then not only are you limited in your own knowledge and experience but you are also limited in what you can do with whatever knowledge you do have. Ellis County has grown and attracted many positive influences from other areas, however, Ellis County has also attracted the negative, such as drugs and a significant rise in crimes directly and indirectly related to drug offenses. It is said to be a vicious cycle, the drugs related to the thefts, assaults and burglaries and vice verse. After reading this blog it appears that this whole sheriffs election and political who-ha is also a vicious cycle, same players, different election? For one candidate it is the perfect ending to a really unremarkable career. I question whether James Ledbetter would be capable of getting ‘up to speed’ and updating his qualifications to the point that he could competently meet the county’s needs. Other than talking that good ol boy talk what does he have to offer Ellis County besides some outdated good ol boy policing? THE TRUTH BEHIND THE CANDIDATES, worth looking into, after all its your county, your future, your protection, YOUR CHILDREN AND LOVED ONES.
